History

Hillcrest Public School officially opened in 1961. Three years later a new addition was completed. In 2012 a new gymnasium was built with an adjacent activity room and food servery. The school was made fully wheelchair accessible, as well.  Currently, the school is made up of classes from FDK to Grade 8; complete with a gymnasium, activity room,  and a library/learning commons.

The approximate boundaries for Hillcrest are Huron Street to the south, the river valley to the north, Barker Street to the west and Highbury Avenue to the east. 

Our Mascot is the Hawk. We are proud to be known as the Hillcrest Hawks!

We are a balanced day school. Here are the school hours:

9:00 am bell rings

9:00-11:00 Learning block #1

11:00-11:50 nutrition break #1 (half the school eats and half goes outside and then switch mid break)

11:50-1:50 Learning block #2 

1:50-2:30 nutrition break#2 (half the school eats and half goes outside and then switch mid break)

2:30-3:30 Learning block #3

3:30 Dismissal
